Now there is a quicker way to get to planning applications!

You can enter a planning application number (e.g. 08/92581), a postcode or a single line of an address e.g. street name in the Search box.  The search results will be returned from the various Council records.  If planning applications are found, they will be listed in the "Results For Application Search" and you can click on the relevant one to view it.

Planning applications have been edited in this way since May 2006, but other documents published before 6 August 2008 have not been. Please contact the Council's Assistant Data Protection Officer on 023 8028 5588 or email lisa.clark@nfdc.gov.uk if you wish your signature, personal telephone number(s) to be removed from documents published before 6 August 2008 (or planning documents before May 2006).

or by email to Development Control

Planning applications over 10 years old will only have the decision notice and related documents and plans published on our website.

The pages in this section allow you to view details of planning applications including application forms, plans and supporting statements currently being considered by the Council and decision notices as well as some planning history.

"PLEASE NOTE that in very exceptional circumstances supporting documents may be too large to upload onto our web site in full. In these rare circumstances we will request that the applicant provides a summary document that can be scanned.

A note to this effect will also be added to the web site which will say where the full document can be viewed. Statutory consultees will be sent a cd of the document (where this is available) or a hard copy version."

Planning applications online is an online internet service that allows you to view planning applications being considered by the Council, submit comments on the application and view lists of received and decided applications.

By clicking the "documents" tab on each application you can view current planning application documents including application forms, plans, the case officers report and decision notices.

Online Planning Application Submission
You are strongly encouraged to apply electronically You can make a planning application and pay a fee online. Please refer to the following Planning Portal Guidance notes: Making a Planning Application online

If you wish you can also create applications for New Forest District Council using the links to 1APP forms and then print your forms and submit them by post.

To assist in the process, and to ensure a good quality of image and to assist us in getting information onto our website quickly, if you are submitting paper copies of your plans and have plans or supporting information in an electronic form it would be very useful if you could provide a CD with your submitted drawings, supporting statements etc in a .pdf format.  Details of the specification for plans and information to be contained on the CD can be viewed by using this link - Advice on Planning Applications Online.

This is in addition to the required number of paper copies. If you are submitting electronically you do not need to do this.

We undertake our consultations to internal and external consultees electronically. Please therefore refer to the Standards for e-consultation issued by the Planning Portal.

To use the full online payment service you will need to register with the Planning Portal and create a User Name and Password. You can also use the Portal's on-line applications service to purchase a site location plan to accompany your application. Accompanying documents can be attached to online planning applications.

Adobe Scaling and Measuring Tool

From 4 December 2008, the Planning Portal's online application process will  attach a 'scaling and measuring' token to any drawing or map in .pdf format that is attached to an online application submitted via the Planning Portal.

Any users viewing application drawings and maps online, that have been submitted via the Planning Portal, will now be able to scale and measure drawings on-screen.

We would encourage public, professional users and internal and external consultees to view and consult online to take advantage of this new functionality.
